Naad’s first picnic was to celebrate the completion of its first year in 2004. A paddle pool party was organized in the garden of a well-wisher and a cake was cut by the first student to enroll at Naad.
Swingin’ times
For many of the children it was the first time they’d splashed about in a paddle pool and after the initial apprehension they took to it like the proverbial duck to water.
Naad’s first birthday!
Mothers chatted and exchange news, views and experiences about bringing up children while the children splashed, cycled, played ball or just ran about enjoying the outdoors and the feel of grass below their feet.
The Old Woman’s Shoe
Naad’s most recent picnic was in early 2008. This time we gathered at Kamala Nehru Park. Children clambered over jungle gyms, went up and down slides and see-saws and tried to swing as high as they could on the swings. After that there was an exhilarating game of football followed by a trip into the Old Woman’s Shoe and lunch.
