The single most important service an early intervention centre requires is effective counselling.
The Foundation’s counselling service—
- Provides basic information on deafness and issues related to parenting.
- Provides individualized on-going and effective counselling service to parents of hearing-impaired babies to help them accept and cope with their child’s special needs.
- Addresses age-appropriate behavioural issues as these babies grow through the Foundation’s programme and helps them devise appropriate strategies to handle them.
- Develops sensitivity towards hearing impairment among children and adults in each child’s community.
